SmartShopper is a program available through your health plan and employer and is not available to the general public. If you are unsure about eligibility you may contact SmartShopper. If you qualify for a reward, a check or alternative form of payment such as a spending account contribution, <strong>it will be sent to you within approximately 60 days</strong> after the date of your appointment. The form of payment is determined by your particular program. If 60 days pass and you have not received your check or payment, please call SmartShopper.

"Even in-network facilities can charge vastly different amounts for identical procedures. Going to a hospital for an MRI, for example, could cost substantially more than at an outpatient facility. Going to a cost-effective facility saves your employer, health plan, or insurance company money and additionally helps lower the cost of health care in your area. So, through SmartShopper, they pass on a percentage of the savings directly to you. As you may know, the cost of routine medical procedures can vary greatly from facility to facility. When you shop for a procedure or treatment, SmartShopper estimates the cost of your procedure at different locations in your network. If you elect to have your procedure performed at a cost-effective location, you earn a cash reward. It's that simple."
